As 2024 comes to a close, we want to take a moment to reflect on what has been an exciting and rewarding year. Despite the fear and uncertainty throughout the year – from an election cycle to an assassination attempt and more – the U.S. markets showed remarkable resilience. The S&P 500 is on track to finish as one of its strongest years yet, rising about 27% YTD.
This marks the fifth consecutive year we’ve worked to enhance our platform, rolling out new features to help you stay ahead in the market. In 2024, we kept up our rhythm of quarterly updates, delivering four new versions of Option Samurai. Each release focused on making the platform more intuitive, powerful, and aligned with your trading needs.
Here’s a look at some of the key highlights we added this year:
Improved Scanner
This year, we put a lot of effort into making our scanner even more helpful and efficient. The “All Scans” page was introduced, giving you a clearer dashboard to manage your scans, access favorites, and navigate more easily.
We also enhanced the “drill down” feature for individual stocks, making exploring specific opportunities faster and more intuitive. On top of that, we introduced a new Ratio Spreads scanner to expand the range of strategies you can find and evaluate.
To give you even better data for decision-making, we added metrics like Expected Move, ATR vs. Strike, and several predefined scans to get you started quickly. Behind the scenes, we made general improvements to the user interface and our calculation engine to ensure everything runs smoothly and delivers results faster.
Improved Excel and Sheets Integration
We significantly improved our Excel and Google Sheets integrations this year, enhancing the overall experience to make your workflow smoother.
One of the standout additions was the Reverse DCF templates. These make it simple to evaluate stocks using a discounted cash flow model, allowing you to assess valuation assumptions with minimal effort.
We also introduced backtests you can run yourself, giving you the power to test strategies and ideas directly. We also included predefined scans tailored to help you quickly find trade opportunities. These updates are designed to give you new ways to analyze and act more confidently.
Improved Account Management
This year, we made managing your account and payments simpler. Our updated credit card processor now lets you pay in your local currency.
We also added self-service options for upgrading, canceling, or downgrading your plan so you can easily adjust your subscription as needed.
Lastly, we launched an Affiliate Program, allowing you to share Samurai with others while earning rewards.
On top of those, we’ve added more predefined scans, more improvements to our scenario and trade log tools, and much more. Stay tuned, as in 2025, we will launch dark mode, custom scanners, and more!
